Next chapter - Life in Estonia.

... it´s been a week already and people keep asking me "Oh, but when do you leave?", "How long are you going to stay here?", "What are you doing here?...". Almost feeling like immigrant in my hometown! :)

That´s how dreaming starts...

Kids, remember please, you can still choose other healthy careers like being a pilot, dentist, lawyer... ;)

The Fellowship of Things - final page?

- Fresh Maestros Frodo & Gimly shaking hands for successfully dropping The Ring into Mount Doom.

It was in spring 1995 that my eyes were caught on a car sketch in a German magazine. "I wish I could draw like that!" - from that moment I wanted to become designer. I never thought this would lead into a journey of my life.

Now 12 years later I am graduating from Umeå Institute of Design - one of the best design schools in the world. When I sent over my application I didn´t have a clear overview of what to expect. But I soon found myself in the middle of a strong international community, where people work hard to make their dreams come true. I was not working alone anymore at nights - there were always people to talk with and ask advice. These past two years here in Umea have been definitely the best and the happiest days of my design studies. I have learned a great deal about my skills, limits and future opportunities.

My dear course mates Andreas Johansson, Adriaan Van Eyndhoven, Morten Wagener, Ola Kollin - you guys have not only been good friends I have been looking for a long time, but also examples of great designers I admire. You made me notice that I still have a lot to learn - both as a designer and as person. I wish you good luck for the future and I sincerely hope our roads will cross again! And to our program leader, Pete Avondoglio, I owe you great thanks for putting us together!

SilberAuto - I´m very greatful for them to make this Master´s Degree project happen. Design brief was very challenging and I learned a great deal from the process.

Feeling already nostalgia for the things to come,
Hannes
